Garden Club


HARLEM TOWNSHIP GARDEN CLUB      EST. 1951


The Harlem Township Garden Club is a nonprofit organization founded in 1951 by local gardeners to “create interest in soil, to produce plants for food and beauty, to appreciate the beauty around us and where there is no beauty; to create it”. The membership shall be open to all interested gardeners and members who live in all areas of central Ohio.  Members meet monthly at homes, barns or Harlem Township Facilities.    

Harlem Township Garden Club is a member of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs, Region 7.  Harlem Township Garden Club is a member of the Delaware County Garden Clubs Association which meets twice a year for programing and socialization.    

The Ohio Association of Garden Clubs mission statement reads; “To promote education, beautification, and conservation; to stimulate interest in knowing, growing, showing, and sharing, and to encourage youth in the same areas”.  

The Harlem Township Garden Club has received many awards of distinction including the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs State Award, “Victor H. Reis Outstanding Garden Club; OAGC State Master Gardeners, OAGC State Officers, Region 7 Officers, Region 7 Outstanding Garden Club; Region 7 Outstanding Gardeners, Region 7 Outstanding Garden Club Members; Delaware County Clubs Presidents and officers; Consistent Superior Awards for Program Books, Flower Shows, Photo Contests and flower arranging at local, regional and state events.  

Monthly meetings with interesting programs, bi-annual flower shows, annual beautification projects, and tours are enjoyed by members.  Perspective members must attend three garden club events to be considered for membership.  Annual dues are $20.
