Harlem (Buddtown) Cemetery
This cemetery is the oldest one in the township with the first burial recorded on a stone done in 1814. The cemetery is the burial site of four or five Revolutionary War veterans and of the Reverend Daniel Bennet, founder of the Harlem Road Methodist Church. Some cleaning work has been done of some of the old stones in the cemetery, some of which are in amazing condition. Known to be missing in the cemetery is the stone and burial location of Civil War veteran, John Baughman.
A search was made for Baughman'’s stone as part of one of the Boy Scout Eagle projects. Nothing was found, so a new stone was placed in the cemetery beside another of the Civil War graves. (First picture.)
